The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world’s preeminent business awards for female entrepreneurs, executives, employees, and the organizations they run. 2016 Finalists have been announced, and the Stevie winners will be announced on November 18 in New York. TIBCO’s Michele Haddad has been selected as a finalist in the Female Executive of the Year—Business Services category for companies with more than 2,500 employees.
Michele Haddad is senior vice president of global human resources at TIBCO Software. She has been with the company for more than 15 years, making her first mark in finance followed by another in HR. She’s held positions including financial analyst, finance manager, and director of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) in EMEA and North America, as well as VP of human resources and SVP of global human resources. After making a significant impact on the finance department, Michele was handpicked by the company’s CEO to tap her skills and do the same with HR. It was a vote of confidence in her ability to transform HR with the same head-on approach she had in finance, and it turns out he was right.
While Michele has deep expertise in finance, M&A, integration, divestiture, and business transformation, the list goes beyond that. Michele’s strategic focus results in cultural and financial success. In addition to her work toward creating happy employees, she has saved millions of dollars from restructuring and benefit/compensation planning. Her judgement is simply remarkable.
Under Michele’s leadership, TIBCO’s superb HR team masterfully supports its global workforce of 4,000 employees across 30 countries. Michele has helped build foundational programs to support TIBCO employees to a greater degree. In late 2015, she initiated TIBCO’s first-ever learning and development program, which has driven the refresh of TIBCO’s corporate values via internal campaigns, rolled out employee surveys on a global-scale for the first time, launched an e-learning system, and initiated training workshops. She also formalized a performance management process with the goal of increasing employee development through training managers and improving communication.
To further recognize and connect with TIBCO’s excellent staff, Michele has prioritized employee branding and engagement. Efforts such as sharing employee’s achievements and personal stories in corporate blog posts and on social media have been well received by employees and have reinvigorated TIBCO’s internal culture with a new creative flare.
Michele has been a key player in growing, leveraging, and creating networking opportunities for female employees at TIBCO. She was a founding sponsor of TWN—TIBCO Women’s Network—which launched in 2016 to increase recruitment, development, and retention of women through connection, education, and experience. The network has resulted in resource and knowledge sharing, mentorship and leadership development, cross-team relationship building, and greater career mobility. TWN is a key example of how Michele is leading her team towards achieving its specific vision of empowering women to reach their ultimate professional and personal goals.
A proactive, progressive, and innovative leader is what a large-scale company like TIBCO needs. Michele has created modern HR programs to expand, support, and promote TIBCO’s workforce. She continues to advocate for women in business by creating support and networking groups to strengthen and serve to the female workforce. And she helps propel TIBCO forward as a well-rounded company by lending her expertise to the executive board. Her efforts, achievements, and impact in the workplace are a great example of what women in business can do if they have the dedication and drive to accomplish their goals.
Join us in congratulating Michele, and keep your fingers crossed that we’ll be back in a few weeks to announce her Stevie Award win!
