The Team
You will be working for the TIBCO Quantum Leap (QL) group which is a unique division within TIBCO that offers
- Innovation driven by customer needs, leading to new solutions, new products, and strategic partnerships with customers.
- Example systems include disruption management for airlines, customer experience management for Telco’s, advanced fulfillment systems using event-driven BPM and master data management solutions for retail, and grid-based event rule systems for investment banks.
- Creation of new markets for TIBCO by investing in new and interesting software technology combinations.
QL has been successfully operating a new and agile approach to strategic customers and new markets. Skills, drive, and commitment are what makes this group of highly skilled engineers different. Current major QL clients in EMEA include: Vodafone, BT, Lufthansa, ING, and TelecomItalia.
Responsibilities
Taking work experience during your studies into account, you will be given a step-by-step introduction combined with coaching and training to create a rounded and highly skilled technology professional.
The role will involve:
- Hands-on development (via Java, XML, TIBCO tools) of new, innovative solutions for customers using rules, continuous queries, state models etc
- Technical support of sales processes involving direct customer interactions through presentations, requirements gathering, proposal writing, demonstration and Proof-Of-Concept development, etc.
- Working on customer projects such as the design & implementation of solutions, enhancements to extend customer value from systems, etc.
- Up to 70% travel in EMEA (Europe, Middle Ease and Africa).
We are looking for recent graduate or future graduates with formidable technical development (Java/XML/WS) skills – true programmers and problem solvers. Ideally, with Masters or Doctoral degrees in Computer Science (or a related field). These individuals will have the drive, commitment, intelligence, creativity and curiosity to meet demanding business challenges and grow with TIBCO.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Predicted or recently obtained Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Informatics, Software Engineering, IT.
- Proven programming skills gained ideally during your studies in part-time jobs.
- Strong software analysis, development, and design skills.
- Good knowledge of UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Ability to demonstrate technical aptitude in two or more of the following: JAVA, J2EE, XML, XPATH, Web Services.
- Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
- Internet protocols and products (HTTP, SOAP, Web Services, Ajax).
- Some understanding of network design, operation, and performance tuning.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (proficiency in English is a must, additional European language a bonus).
- Desire to work with customers and travel (up to 70% in EMEA).
- You must be eligible to work in the EU without the need for a work permit. IGS/HSMP/Fresh Talent work permits are not acceptable due to the requirements of the job.
Desirable Additional Knowledge
- Middleware technologies (RV, MQSeries, RPC, JMS, CORBA, EJB and any existing knowledge of TIBCO products is highly desirable).
- Data architectures for Master Data Management (MDM), DataWarehouse (DWH), or Distributed / Grid Systems.
- Specific industry experience such as Telco, Logistics, Finance, Energy, or others.
- Knowledge of Complex Event Processing (CEP) and Business Rules Engines (BRE).
