TIBCO Software is a great place to work, with intelligent, energetic employees who contribute to the success of the company and love what they do each day. What’s it like? Cris Madrigal, a Solutions Consultant based in the Palo Alto, CA main office, shares what he enjoys about his job at TIBCO, what makes him stay, and more.

The TIBCO Blog: What is a Solutions Consultant here at TIBCO?

Cris Madrigal:  A Solutions Consultant’s main role is to demonstrate (technically) how our products could be used to improve a customer’s current and future processes. It’s all about showing the value of our products, via technical presentations, webinars, demos, or proof of concepts. There’s a large amount of collaboration involved, and in many cases you will have 5+ people working on the same account.

TTB: How does your work impact TIBCO’s customers?

CM: Once the sales cycle is complete, many times we become the primary form of contact with the customer. We are constantly in contact with the customer to give advice or assistance if needed. Also, any feedback provided to us is relayed to the Product Managers, so they can take that into account in the next version of the product.

TTB: What was your biggest or toughest problem you’ve solved within the last year?

CM: TIBCO is always innovating to provide the best products and services to our customer. Recently we have started moving more towards a ‘cloud first’ initiative. I am one of the first SCs that focuses primarily on our cloud offering, so I’ve had the pleasure to work on many of the environments and demos that other SCs may use.

TTB: Why did you choose and why do you stay at TIBCO?

CM: TIBCO gives me a chance to work on the latest and greatest technologies out there. It’s a lot of fun to be working with products that have such an impact on many different types and sizes of companies. I want to be part of something that continues to grow and is established in many different markets.

TTB: What advice do you have for someone who is interested in pursuing a position like yours?

CM: Be self-motivated and be willing to put yourself in situations that you wouldn’t normally be comfortable doing so. A willingness to learn is a must because of how quickly technology evolves.
