It is a truism that sometimes the simplest things in life are the best things in life. We have been saying for a long, long time that easy to use analytic business intelligence tools would drive adoption. It’s a simple statement really, that could be assigned to even the most difficult to use technology – make it simple and the people will use it. We are not alone in our assertion. Our SaaS business intelligence tools friends have made a new market by producing easy to use and easy to consume business intelligence tools. We have noticed.
We recently conducted a survey and published a new BeyeNETWORK research report, “Ease of Use and Interface Appeal in BI Tools,” by Cindi Howson, founder of BIScorecard. A key finding of the report is that “ease of use” plays a more important role in achieving high user adoption of BI and analytics tools than advanced BI features.
Don’t want to believe us, or Cindi for that matter? Fine, how about a little company called Chevron? Heard of them? Read the Chevron case study here to discover why the folks at Chevron believe that with Tibco Spotfire 3.1, ease of use equals value.
