Some of our customers have asked us if tibbr comes with a code of conduct to prevent employees from “swearing and posting inappropriate content.” It seems like a funny question given the transparency of an enterprise social network, i.e. your boss and your boss’s boss can see your posts. Generally speaking, employees don’t post inappropriate content. The rules in your organization’s employee handbook always apply.
But, the question brings up another important one: what are the best practices for posting a message on your enterprise social network so you stay ‘cool’ and ‘relevant’?
Here are a few best practices to start with:
• Before you post a message, it’s always a good idea to ask yourself, “Is this relevant to our business?” “Who would want to see this post and on what subject?”
• Track the effectiveness of a message—how ‘cool’ it is—by seeing how many people “like” it, “reply” to it and add more useful information.
• It’s usually a good idea to keep the text brief and to the point. Save long messages for email.
• Make sure the right people are receiving your messages. Categorize your messages by subjects.
• Don’t miss an opportunity to join in on conversations that leverage your expertise: create and follow subjects where you can contribute your knowledge; and set up custom email notifications for the subjects you’re interested in, so you don’t miss a beat.
