F1 Race Recap: A Gold Medal Finish for the Silver Arrows in Singapore

Riding high after a thrilling 1-3 victory in Monza at the Italian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas, and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One crew took the show on the road once more in Singapore. With the team leading the World Constructors’ Championship standings ahead of Ferrari, and Hamilton holding a lead in the drivers’ standings over Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, there was plenty on the line as all ten teams prepared for Singapore’s anticipated night race.

At Saturday’s qualifying event, Hamilton set the track ablaze clocking in record-setting lap times and earning himself pole position to start Sunday’s race in the lead.

The setting was stunning — Singapore’s vibrant skyline lit up in the background. The iconic Marina Bay Sands stood tall in the background, home to #TIBCONOW events past and future!

The race took off to a dramatic start, with Hamilton blasting his way clear of the competition Force India drivers collided right away around lap one, bringing out an early Safety Car.

After 18 laps, Hamilton headed in for a pit stop and soon found himself back in the action with a stronger grip on the pavement.

As the rest of the field made their stops as well, Hamilton regained the lead and worked to keep the competition behind him.

With a hefty six-second lead at the front of the pack, the race was in Hamilton’s hands with Bottas keeping things interesting in P4. As the laps ticked away, it became clear to everyone that this would be another banner day for the Silver Arrows.
