QSuper provides superannuation (retirement) fund investment and financial advice services for current and former Queensland Government workers. It is also transitioning to provide its services to a broader range of customers, and the demands of a more competitive market dictated the need for change.
According to Scott Edie, manager of application technology and security architecture, “We wanted to improve operational efficiencies, primarily by streamlining our back-office functions and reducing cost.”
To achieve those goals while remaining laser focused on the customer, Edie and his team set out to resolve several challenges, including point-to-point interfaces used to integrate application silos created by various business functions. This brittle integration infrastructure and disjointed communications required an overhaul.
