This very interesting article from CNN’s Fortune BrainStorm Tech makes a great analogy between the advances in video gaming technology and the advances in Business Intelligence usability. We’ve written about this type of analogy before and actually have developed our own “game” to show the ease of use of Business Intelligence tools today. The author of this post points out the following capabilities and functionality between Business Intelligence and video games, including:
- Personalization, Filtering, and Content
- What-if Scenario Analysis
- Collaboration
- On-Demand Delivery
We agree with all of these points and would suggest one related outcome if all of the above are met – stickiness. In the Business Intelligence space, as in the video game world, if ease of use is delivered, stickiness occurs and users will come back – quarters in hand.
