Forrester Analyst and Prolific Blogger James Kobielus shares his insights on complex event processing, a segment of analytics in his recent posting “The New Decade of Advanced Analytics: Roll Over Rocket Scientists.”Normally, we don’t like to use this blog to promote our own horn, so to speak, but in this case we want to make an exception. Kobielus’ piece mentions a few vendors in the advanced analytics space, and calls out Tibco Spotfire for offering “user-friendly, powerful, interactive visualization in its business intelligence offering.”
In his analysis on advanced analytics, Kobielus predicts complex event processing, predictive analytics and data mining tools will “remain power tools,” not reaching the mass audience that ‘general” business intelligence does.
