Yes, we are aware that the headline of this blog is akin to “Get Rich Quick” or those lovely notes we get from the nice Nigerian gentlemen. However, this is not self-serving. ComputerWorld’s 2009 Salary Survey for IT is out and Business Intelligence positions are, in fact, among the most highly sought after.
The article leads off with the CIO of Fordham University struggling to fill a Business Intelligence director level position at, get this, a salary north of $100,000. Wow. In this unfortunate hiring climate where unemployment is higher than ten percent nationally we would think that there would be qualified folks competing for this job. Not the case apparently. According to ComputerWorld, a business intelligence analyst for 2009 is the third most sought after and third most highly compensated position in IT.
So, no joke, the holiday season is coming up, ask for Business Intelligence books.
