Business Intelligence Hits the Funny Pages

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Cornered Oct 5OK, maybe the average comics/funny pages reader didn’t associate a recent “Cornered” by Mike Baldwin with business intelligence, but those who know and love business intelligence will.

The premise of the Oct 5 strip is that the company “laid off too many people,” and then realized the profits they generated from “the employee parking lot.”  After laughing, I recalled an industry case study that featured a company using business intelligence to identify overcharges by the local parking garage.

Similarities aside, think about the point in this strip – companies should take a wide look at the impact of business changes.  Especially when making drastic changes such as layoffs.  A smarter approach to changes is to use business intelligence tools to foresee the impact of change.
