CEP events: the EPTS Symposium#5

Reading Time: < 1 minute

This might sound like a classical musical announcement, but in fact is an indicator of one of the more successful aspects of the CEP community – the Event Processing Technical Societymeeting for the 5th time (and first time in Europe I believe) later this month. The collection of vendors, academics, researchers, analysts, and end-users makes this a somewhat unique group cooperating to raise the level of success and adoption of CEP through agreed terminology, architectures, language classifications etc. The nearest equivalent in the software industry was, I believe, BPMI.org – which successfully launched the concepts of BPM onto the IT world before being swallowed up by internal politics and then the OMG standards body (and now somewhat re-invented as the BPM Consortium).

TIBCO are participating in EPTS5 (as a co-chair of the Reference Architecture working group), as indeed are all the main CEP vendors. The new draft of the EPTS glossary is up for discussion too. If any TIBCO customers are attending – drop me a line!
