10 Reasons Why San Francisco Is THE Place for a Conference

    Reading Time: 2 minutes

We’ve moved our annual conference, TIBCO NOW, to the City by the Bay and with good reason… well, more like 10 of them.

    1. Food

It doesn’t matter what kind of food you like. Whether you’re a vegan or a carnivore, a foodie or a junk food junkie, you’re never far from something delicious in San Francisco (though you may have to wait in line).

    2. Architecture

San Francisco is full of beautiful buildings. Victorian houses stand next to modernist high-rises, and skyscrapers stand next to pre-war apartment buildings. Even the land the city is built on has a unique shape to it.

    3. Bridges

The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the most iconic structures in the world, but the Bay Bridge is the unsung hero. Recently rebuilt, the new Bay Bridge stands next to the old one as a symbol of a new era in San Francisco.

    4. Touristy stuff

Locals complain about the crowds in places like Alcatraz, Fisherman’s Wharf, and Union Square, but folks show up for a reason.

    5. Neighborhoods

The Haight has its hippies, the Mission has its hipsters, and the Marina has its yuppies. In San Francisco, you don’t have to walk more than a few blocks to find an area completely different than the last.

    6. Sports

San Francisco is the type of place where polo is played on Segways, proving that the Bay Area does sports differently. The Giants hit homeruns into the bay, and our annual footrace, Bay to Breakers, is more known for its wacky costumes than its athleticism.

    7. Art

The Legion of Honor, the de Young Museum, and the SF MOMA are just a handful of the many art museums in San Francisco. If you’re feeling something more contemporary, there are a number of galleries throughout the city that show off local artists.

    8. History

You won’t find many cities on the West Coast with as much history as San Francisco. Everyone from Bruce Lee to Jack Kerouac has called this city home.

    9. People

The personalities you’ll encounter on a trip to San Francisco will stay with you. Like no other place in the world, San Francisco cherishes its absurdity.

    10. Technology

We have to admit to some bias here. San Francisco hasn’t always been a hub of technology, but it’s certainly become one. A map of the city reads like a who’s who of tech players. You can check out a few of them at our annual technology conference, TIBCO NOW. Go to NOW.TIBCO.com for more info.
