For any film actor, the Academy Award is the highest honor. For primetime television personalities, the Emmy reigns supreme. To win a Grammy as a recording artist is a dream come true. In the world of business intelligence and analytics, the BI Editor’s Choice Awards 2012 is an honor that only elite companies win because of the analytic tools they choose to deploy. Beeline is such an elite company that has earned the esteemed honor.
Beeline is a provider of intelligent workforce solutions and offers services and software to companies to help them with their contingent labor needs. As some artists are naturally talented and are able to achieve success on stage, in front of the camera, or at a recording studio, they never credit their accomplishments simply to themselves. When they are standing in front of an audience ready to receive an award, there is always a list of people that need to be thanked for making their achievement possible. Beeline has TIBCO Spotfire® on top of that list to thank for helping them become more successful in terms of business intelligence and analytics. In award show fashion: cue the lights, dramatic music and anticipation. Accepting the award on behalf of Beeline is Martin J. Matula, the technical product manager for the company. “We always had the ability to report, but the visualization tools we now have allow us to go in and look at large sets of data and slice and dice so you can pull insight out of the data in real time,” says Matula.
If Beeline wins Computerworld’s first-ever Best of BI Editor’s Choice Award, then Spotfire wins for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. The company partnered with Spotfire in order to drive strategic, analytic business intelligence. Because of the software, Beeline can now investigate trends in their reports and address client questions quickly to gain customer confidence. Not only do Beeline’s customers rely on and benefit from Spotfire, but Beeline does as well. The company no longer just produces analytical reports for what already happened, but has the capability to provide insights as to what will happen. Clients can make informed decisions based on the analysis the company offers using Spotfire. Consequentially, Beeline has an advantage over their competitors that allows them to retain clients and generate revenue as never before.
Beeline was nominated because of a Spotfire case study and this award marks Spotfire’s first case study award win in an IT publication. Just as there is an academy of members deciding who wins an Oscar, there is a panel of Computerworld editors who decided which organizations made better business decisions and generate new revenue using Business Intelligence. Beeline was a clear winner, but instead of thanking The Academy, Spotfire proves to be the ones behind the scenes making BI possible at the company.
