Can analytics transform content management? In “The Rise of ‘Intelligent’ Enterprise Content Management,” Laurence Hart makes a case that the “intelligent content race is on.”
Hart cites an example of how the Swedish Armed Forces, using TIBCO’s Spotfire, perform analytics within a content management context. Alexandra Larsson of the Swedish Armed Forces spoke recently at EMC World in Boston, where she detailed how the organization uses Spotfire to “stream actions occurring within the Documentum repository. The streaming information is live, and allows the Armed Forces headquarters to spot trends and “respond to situations more quickly and efficiently.”
In his article, Hart makes the case that simple access to content is no longer enough.
Not convinced? According to Hart, the example [of the Swedish Armed Forces] “generated quite a lot of buzz from attendees and those remote participants tracking the show via Twitter and the blogosphere.”
