World Vision Architect Danny Mar presented this afternoon at TUCON 2013 on the remarkable work they’re doing in nearly 100 countries around the world. World Vision is a 60-year-old organization that has been serving the needs of the impoverished, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender. They’ve done amazing work and are on a mission to have an even bigger impact in the future.
The focus at World Vision is on improving and refining the work they’re doing in the field and striving to affect the well-being of 150 million of the world’s most vulnerable children by 2016. To make sure they’re being as effective as they can in transforming lives, World Vision feels compelled to drive transparency, accountability, and impact for their donors and beneficiaries.
Serving a Changing World
For more than 60 years, World Vision was the only bridge for data between the donor and the field, but that’s no longer acceptable. Donors are more aware and have much higher expectations—they expect to know things in the same timeframes and through the same channels that they’re used to in their daily lives.
These needs led World Vision to invest in TIBCO technology, allowing them to aggregate data silos into one global repository that delivers simplified reporting and disaster recovery. They had to overcome high volumes and geographically-dispersed data carried over unreliable networks and often of dubious quality. And they had to do this while integrating and maintaining their many internal systems.
Serving the Technology Need
World Vision, in partnership with TIBCO, has been able to increase visibility into child data, reduce process overhead, and lessen the burden on their field workers. This allows greater energy to be directed outward toward children, where it needs to be maximized. TIBCO’s web messaging, enterprise message service, and powerful process technology are giving World Vision the ability to connect donors and those receiving the benefits of donations in the shortest timeframe possible.
TIBCO is very proud of the work it’s doing with customers like World Vision, who is changing the world with our technology.
