Continuous Innovation & Collaboration to Create the Optimal Formula One Car
Test, Analyze, Repeat
Our series on Formula One™ car design continues Andrew Crook, principle aerodynamicist at Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport, discusses the team’s use of the wind tunnel. The wind tunnel has been fundamental to the team’s success, allowing it to extract information about how the car performs under various pressure levels, force measurements, flow field measurements, and more. This improves the team’s understanding of the car’s performance and how best to set it up on any given track.
