Team With TIBCO: Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine
In this Team with TIBCO webinar, we join staff scientist Jack Bramley as he discusses how Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine is using TIBCO SpotfireⓇ and TIBCOⓇ Data Science software in its genomic screening platform to fight neurodegenerative diseases.
Neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer’s, cancer) are without a cure partially due to human genetic differences. Using individuals’ DNA, the School is creating a library of patient-specific mutations, and through CRISPR genome editing, engineering them into live human cells. SpotfireⓇ analytics is used for quality control of cell imaging, feature extraction, and machine learning to find a model that predicts which cells are perturbed by the mutation. Those cells are captured, sequenced, and the exact genetic mutation determined
