Ali Ahmed Named General Manager of TIBCO; Spotfire to Become Separate Business for Cloud Software Group
TIBCO, a global leader in data connectivity, management, and analytics, empowers the world’s most innovative enterprises to solve their complex data challenges and make mission-critical business decisions with greater confidence and impact. Today, TIBCO, a business unit of Cloud Software Group, announced that Ali Ahmed, who has been with the company for more than 21 years, is now general manager of TIBCO.
Previously, Ali has held a number of leadership roles across engineering, including head of Global Engineering Services, and he brings deep expertise in delivering high-quality products and managing large engineering teams worldwide. Ali’s vision as the new head of TIBCO is about keeping the enterprise data solutions business hyper-focused on customer-centric innovation.
With that move for more focus, Spotfire has become a standalone business unit for TIBCO parent company, Cloud Software Group. Olle Landstrom has been named General Manager of Spotfire.
"TIBCO's mission remains laser-focused on innovating with our individual products and the overall developer experience provided by our next generation platform and control plane, deployed either on premises, in virtual environments like Kubernetes, or hybrid cloud." said Ali Ahmed. "We will also extend our messaging fabric by enhancing our existing offering, including embracing open-source technologies like Apache Kafka and Pulsar.”
“TIBCO is a mission-critical partner for some of the world’s largest enterprises. I am confident that under Ali’s leadership, we can deliver even more innovation and focus for our customers,” said Tom Krause, chief executive officer, Cloud Software Group.
As part of these changes for the business, Matt Quinn, former general manager for TIBCO, and Randy Menon, head of engineering for TIBCO, have stepped down from their roles.
