TIBCO Spotfire Webcast to Offer Life Science Community Valuable Insight into Genomic Data Analysis and Drug Discovery
TIBCO Software Inc. (NASDAQ: TIBX) today announced that Dr. Eskouhie Tchaparian, an independent pharmaceutical consultant, and Ben McGraw, director of life science industry solutions, TIBCO Spotfire®, are hosting a complimentary webcast on Thursday, January 12, 2012 titled "Genomic Data Analysis and Drug Discovery." The webcast will provide attendees with the knowledge to leverage advanced statistics and dynamic visualizations to get the most biologically relevant results from RT-PCR data.
What/When: "Genomic Data Analysis and Drug Discovery" webcast – Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. EST.
In this webcast, Dr. Eskouhie Tchaparian will present her recent publication on the "Effect of Culture Time on the Basal Expression Levels of Drug Transporters in Sandwich-Cultured Primary Rat Hepatocytes." Sandwich-cultured rat hepatocytes are employed in drug discovery for pharmacological and toxicological assessment of drug candidates, yet their utility as a functional model for drug transporters has not been fully characterized. To evaluate the system as an in vitro model for drug transport, expression changes of hepatic transporters relative to whole liver and freshly-isolated hepatocytes (day-0) were examined by RT-qPCR for four consecutive days of culture. The presentation will demonstrate how Integromics® RealTime StatMiner® combined with TIBCO Spotfire can be used to measure relative quantification of transcription levels, to select genes whose expression levels are significantly different between two groups through a step-by-step workflow.
During the webcast, attendees will learn how the RealTime StatMiner software application is specifically designed to enable deeper insights into real-time qPCR data from miRNA and TaqMan arrays, and has helped answer scientific questions using interactive visualizations and advanced statistics allowing for rapid and reliable results.
