LogLogic Releases New Virtual Appliance for Data Warehousing and Forensics in VMware Operating Environments

Today at VMworld® 2011, LogLogic®, the IT Data Management Company, today released a first-of-its-type "virtual appliance" that provides data warehousing and forensics analysis for IT data and is optimized for VMware environments. Called Enterprise Virtual Appliance (EVA), the software-based appliance delivers both on-demand and scheduled network reports, supports up to 16,000 end devices – such as PCs, laptops, and workstations– and stores up to 8.5TB, making it ideal for cloud deployments and virtualized data centers. The enterprise-class EVA is powered by the latest LogLogic 5.2 IT data management engine.
The Enterprise Virtual Appliance is available for download now at: http://www.loglogic.com/virtual-appliance.
Traditionally, physical appliances have proved a limitation for IT data volume. Leveraging the power of VMware and the flexibility of the EVA model, enterprises realize improved data throughput, processing power and greater storage capacity. EVA can also be expanded to collect IT data from new virtual or physical sources.
This level of customization makes EVA ideal for cloud providers needing to monitor their own services or providing logging-as-a-service. It offers the ability to build an IT data management platform that is as cost-effective and flexible as the services they are offering. EVA scales with their growing business, while offering all the forensic insight demanded by compliance or SLA mandates.
"The traditional hardware appliance model works well in certain environments, but we're finding that customers want the flexibility to choose whether they will deploy a physical or virtual appliance," said Guy Churchward, CEO of LogLogic. "With EVA we're offering a scalable, full-featured virtualized appliance that allows customers to pay for a solution sized perfectly to their business needs."
While the availability of Logging-as-a-Service and PCI-as-a-Service meet the needs of some, traditional data centers need a flexible IT data management functionality that can be fine-tuned to meet their organization's unique requirements and IT needs. "With EVA we provide true elastic scalability, making EVA an ideal storage, management and forensics solution for the enterprise," said Churchward.
LogLogic will be offering the EVA to qualified attendees at VMworld 2011, to be held at The Venetian in Las Vegas, Nevada. EVA is also available for download on the LogLogic website, www.loglogic.com.
