TIBCO Spotfire Executive to speak at FDA/Industry Statistics Workshop

TIBCO Software Inc. (NASDAQ: TIBX) announced today that Dr. Michael O'Connell, senior director of life sciences, TIBCO Spotfire®, will speak at the FDA/Industry Statistics Workshop being held in Washington, D.C. next week. The FDA/Industry Statistics Workshop is sponsored by the ASA Biopharmaceutical Section in cooperation with the FDA Statistical Association.

Participation details regarding the conference are as follows:

What: Dr. Michael O'Connell will present a session titled "Statistically-Guided Review of Safety Data in Clinical Trials." He will also participate in a roundtable discussion on the "Analysis of Clinical Trials."

Session Overview: Assessment of drug safety is a key aspect of drug development. However, clinical trial design is focused on the efficacy endpoints, and safety data analysis is typically an afterthought. During this session, Dr. O'Connell will present statistical and graphical analyses of safety data that enable detailed clinical review of patient-level data. These include recursive partitioning and penalized logistic regression – all displayed in the visual and interactive Spotfire environment. He will also discuss how clinical graphics and interactive data review methods can provide an ongoing coherent and transparent picture of a drug's safety profile for all stakeholders in the development process.

Where: The workshop is being held on September 20-22, 2010 at the Grand Hyatt Washington in Washington, D.C.

When: Dr. O'Connell will participate in the roundtable at 12:00 p.m. and present at 4:15 p.m. local time on Tuesday, September 21, 2010.
