TIBCO Teams with HP to Expand SOA Lifecycle Governance Offering
New Addition to TIBCO's SOA Line-up Offers the Potential to Increase ROI by more than 300%
TIBCO Software (NASDAQ:TIBX) today announced it is expanding its SOA governance solution to include support for HP SOA Systinet lifecycle governance software for enterprise customers.
TIBCO ActiveMatrix® Policy Manager and TIBCO ActiveMatrix® Service Performance Manager combined with HP SOA Systinet are designed to reduce risk and complexity around the common challenges associated with adopting SOA including identifying and defining appropriate services, managing the lifecycle of service assets, and measuring effectiveness.
"Companies around the world have selected TIBCO to create an enterprise-grade SOA infrastructure that can integrate, deploy, and manage their services effectively," said Raghu Thiagarajan, senior director of Product Strategy at TIBCO. "These companies now want to leverage their SOA infrastructure to offer a multitude of new services. They want to avoid the blind spots in upstream activities such as service ideation and development. With this collaboration with HP, TIBCO now provides an end-to-end SOA solution that will enhance trust and collaboration across service lifecycle and service operations. This will lead to well-aligned expectations, streamlined efforts, and improved productivity across multiple teams, resulting in increased ROI from SOA."
Early customers who deployed end-to-end governance solutions have already seen significant results. An IDC Business Value Spotlight sponsored by HP found that a global telecom company achieved a 327 percent return on investment over three years using well-governed and managed SOA solutions1. Without proper governance, software delivery maybe delayed by issues such as interoperability, compliance, security risks and poor quality of service. By promoting end-to-end governance customers eliminate these concerns that businesses face today.
"Customers can improve IT responsiveness while reducing costs with a comprehensive SOA governance solution," said Tim Hall, director, SOA Center, Software & Solutions, HP. "Together, TIBCO and HP offer a solution that can increase visibility, trust and compliance in a SOA environment, thereby leading to significant return on investment."
TIBCO's governance solution now encompasses both lifecycle governance and operational governance. Lifecycle governance refers to the process of identifying which services are needed within an organization in addition to identifying requirements needed to create, utilize, and retire these services. Operational governance refers to managing policies and performance guarantees that dictate how these services operate throughout the enterprise.
SOA is unique in that it involves the creation of discrete, well-defined services that exist not only as building blocks of larger systems and applications, but also as independent entities. SOA exposes standalone application functionality at a fine level of granularity. TIBCO's ActiveMatrix® platform enables companies to seamlessly integrate their standalone legacy and modern IT applications into an agile technology infrastructure. ActiveMatrix helps customers implement governance across the full SOA stack from start to finish of critical business transactions.
