New options available before showing an initial form to a user when they use a creator or action process

Rather than start your creator and action processes with a single form where you want a user to enter some data, you can now choose whether you want any other tasks to be performed before the case creation or action is initiated. You can:

  • Fetch data from a company data service or perform a calculation as input to the form that the user submits.
  • Have the user provide some initial input before fetching and calculating data. The user then completes and submits the form.

New "build a phrase" feature

You can now quickly and easily create a phrase in a data calculation task. For example, you can create a phrase like this one:

Customer Order: Order/ID approved by Process Starter/Name

Conditional assignment calculation function

You can now assign values to data fields based on a condition using the Conditional assignment function. This allows you to define simple conditions without having to design conditional flows and separate calculation tasks in a process.

Get data from a list calculation function

Using the Get data from all matching list items function, you can look up items in a list, and copy them to another list. This is useful if your process contains tasks that are dependent on data that is contained in the list.

You can also use the Get data from first matching item function to look up a single item from a list.

Introducing multiple conditions for flows

You can now define multiple conditions for each flow in your process. This is useful if you have a more complex process that contains tasks that are dependent on more than one condition.

TIBCO Scribe® Online Connector for TIBCO Cloud™ Live Apps now available

TIBCO Scribe® Online Connector for TIBCO Cloud™ Live Apps allows you to build data integrations between TIBCO® Live Apps applications and any combination of other cloud-based and on-premise applications. From TIBCO Scribe®, you can connect to a Live Apps service, find and retrieve your case information, create cases and perform case actions.

Authenticating API Access to TIBCO Cloud™ Live Apps Services

Any API call to a TIBCO® Live Apps service must include valid authentication information. You can include authentication information using the methods provided by the Authentication Service.

Logging events from TIBCO Cloud™ Live Apps to a shared audit log

You can now add a task to a Live Apps creator or action process and configure it to log Live Apps events to a shared audit log in TIBCO Cloud™ AuditSafe. This is useful if your Live Apps application is participating in applications using several cloud services in your organization and you want to quickly and easily get an overall view of what has happened for a whole instance of a business process.

Improved application view

An improved application view in TIBCO Cloud™ Live Apps Administrator allows you to quickly and easily see your most relevant applications. For example, the applications that are ready to publish. Secondly, you can also see more applications at a glance.

Use the TIBCO Cloud Live Apps API to start case creators and case actions

You can use the TIBCO Cloud™ Live Apps API to start a case creator or a case action for an application. You do this by using a combination of methods provided by the Authorization Engine Service, the Case Manager Service and the Business Process Management Service.

Live Apps Designer: Automatic action deadlines

A case action can now be configured to automatically start after a defined period of time when a case reaches a certain state or states. This is useful if you want to specify a period of time that a case can be in a particular state or states before some remedial action is taken.

Live Apps Designer: Web link data type

A new web link data type that records a URL is available. Using the web link data type:

  • An application user can record a URL to a document available from another company data system.
  • Allows your application to receive a URL to a document available from another company data system.

Live Apps Designer: Improved application view

An improved application view allows you to see more of your applications at a glance.

Live Apps Case Manager: Case comments

You can collaborate with other application users by adding comments about a case. You can view, add and reply to comments using the Comments button.

Live Apps Case Manager: Accessing case documents

A new type of data field allows you to access your case documents from a URL.

Live Apps Case Manager: Now available in Spanish

TIBCO Cloud Live Apps Case Manager is now available in Spanish, specifically the es-ES locale.

Date and time functions

New date and time functions are available in calculation tasks. Calculation tasks allow you to take existing case and process data and use it to calculate the values of other fields in your application.

TIBCO Cloud Live Apps Case Manager

Reports Dashboard

A new reports dashboard is available in TIBCO Cloud Live Apps that allows you to access summary data about your cases and work items. For example, you may want to see the number of cases that have reached the Pending state, so that you can take remedial action to progress those cases.

JSON boolean properties supported in TIBCO Cloud Integration Live Apps activities

When creating a case or performing a case action using a Live Apps activity in TIBCO Cloud Integration, you can now assign JSON Boolean properties to text fields.

Case Manager now available in Italian

TIBCO Cloud Live Apps Case Manager is now available in Italian.

Live Apps Assistant

A new Live Apps Assistant is available in TIBCO Cloud Live Apps Mobile that allows you to create and interact with your cases using an automated chat-style interface. You can create cases and start case actions using text or voice. TIBCO Cloud Live Apps Mobile is available via the appropriate application store. The Live Apps Assistant is available in the US and Europe.

Dynamic access of case actions

A new participant group data type that records a selected group:

  • The group can be set by an application user on a user task form.
  • The group can be set in a calculation task using the set participant group function.

Your application can use a conditional flow to decide how a case should proceed based on the participant data field.

You can now restrict case actions to one or more users or groups of users that have been selected from a participant data field.

Case starter, process starter and participant information

You can now use the following case starter, process starter and participant information within your application; first name, last name and email address. You can:

Automatically starting case actions

A case action can now be configured to start automatically when a case reaches a certain state or set of states. This is useful, for example, if you have tasks in a case action that follow on from tasks in another case action. In this scenario, you may want to start a case action automatically, without waiting for a user to do something.

Notification of new notes by email

You can now be notified by email when any notes are added to or deleted from an application, or when existing notes are modified. This includes notes associated with processes, states, and data.

Case Manager now available in French

TIBCO Cloud Live Apps Case Manager is now available in French, specifically, the fr-FR locale.

Restricting access to cases

You can restrict access to applications and their associated cases. For example, you could configure the Expenses application so only the expense creator and Accounts team can access a claim and some of the actions that process it.

Data picklists

Data picklists enable your application users to choose from a set of data that’s available in your case. When completing a form, an application user can choose one or more items from a list of data. This is useful, if you want to get a list of items from a company data service, such as a list of different types of paint that an application user can order.

Share a Live Apps application with people outside your subscription

When designing an application in Live Apps Designer, you can now share a copy of your application with people outside your Live Apps subscription. In this way, applications can be used like templates.

Direct tasks to specific users

You can now configure a user task to send a work item to one or more specific users in your subscription. Previously, user tasks could be directed to groups of users. Now, an application user can select specific people in their organization to send a subsequent work item to.

New and improved videos

New feature help videos have been added to Live Apps that now describe, user tasks and work items, associating data with forms and state availability and exit states. Videos are now situated in the appropriate areas within Live apps as well as in Live Apps Help sidebars.
