Stack Sports Teams Up with TIBCO Cloud Integration
Streamlined league management, consolidation, reuse, faster time to market
Striking out with too many platforms
For too long, administrative duties have taken away from coaches and league administrators’ enjoyment of sports. Now, all parties involved are turning to software to alleviate humdrum duties. With exponential growth—27 acquisitions in 28 months, and each acquired company using a different software platform—Stack Sports realized it needed a way to quickly bring all of its acquisitions together.
"We want to consolidate and shrink our footprint of services and have common business logic in one place," said Richard Wall, vice president of technology and engineering at Stack Sports. "The leadership team backed me on choosing TIBCO because it was really about time-to-market and the things that I could cut down from months to weeks, and in some cases, weeks to days."
Communication Is Key
In a matter of weeks, using the API-led TIBCO Cloud Integration platform, the Stack Sports team had integrated and consolidated many disparate systems. "The ability to quickly integrate new data from acquired platforms allows us to focus on developing new features for users, including updates to our popular mobile app."
The previously-siloed platforms meant a lack of internal communications, something Wall was intent on changing. "We are a hodgepodge of 27 companies, but now we're starting to consolidate a lot of our products and build common services between them.
Reuse and Faster Time to Market
"TIBCO Cloud Integration software enables us to develop services once, reuse them, and improve time to market. It shortens our timeframe of rolling out new services because I am not having to code the commodity layer. I can focus on business logic."
Without TIBCO, the development of many of Stack Sports' services would take months due to the coding required when building from scratch. With the TIBCO Cloud Integration iPaaS, reusing work is easy, and time-to-market is drastically reduced. Stack Sports increased its market delivery by 25%.
Stack Sports ultimately chose TIBCO because some of its executives had positive experiences with earlier projects. "One of the benefits of using TIBCO Cloud Integration software is its scalability. I can see it scaling as we scale. I don't have to overbuy upfront," said Wall.
With the help of TIBCO, Stack Sports clients can now focus on what truly matters: the love of the game.
