Odin Groep Increases Decision Confidence and Business Forecasting with Cloud Integration

Challenge

Headquartered in The Netherlands, Odin Groep develops, manages, and hosts online IT services for millions of business professionals and students. As the parent organization overseeing three smaller companies—Previder, Heutink ICT, and Winvision—Odin Groep provides digital workplaces, websites, and online portals for a variety of industries, as well as educational and governmental organizations. However, with each company targeting different markets and offering varying products and services, Odin Groep struggled to streamline operations and fuel continuous innovation with their various applications and systems.

The group was trying to provide cutting-edge IT services to customers while working with outdated technologies within its own enterprise. With the legacy application foundation unable to support daily business operations, including CRM-related processes, Odin Groep needed a solution that would enable its employees to better carry out their tasks — such as everyday business management and planning, as well as managing stock and orders.

Transformation

Struggling with their piecemeal set of systems, Odin sought to transform into an integrated application landscape. They chose TIBCO for its iPaaS solution in part due to TIBCO’s user-friendly reputation, which had been relayed to them by a business partner who had good prior experiences with the solution provider.

Furthermore, TIBCO proved to be the ideal solution provider thanks to easy interoperability with other popular applications, including many Odin Groep were already using. This included a variety of Microsoft applications, such as Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations products, making TIBCO Cloud Integration software as a service the perfect fit.

With a new iPaaS in place, Odin Groep was able to seamlessly integrate their data and applications across all three of their companies. Their new foundation was easy to use, faster, and more affordable; and could be leveraged by employees groupwide without the need to know how to program, accelerating application deployment and lowering costs.

Benefits

Overall, business processes have improved considerably since Odin partnered with TIBCO. As Leon Scheurwater, IT Manager with Odin Groep explains, "We have more reliable, real-time data in our applications. Because of this, we can manage our processes and make the right decisions; for example, we can plan more efficiently—we no longer carry unnecessary stock."

Now, those in Odin's planning department feel more confident and in control when making decisions, because they are able to look at data trends and forecast for the future, rather than guess. The group rarely has to make order changes now, because they are able to better predict and manage their needs.

Odin plans on expanding its partnership with TIBCO well into the future. While it currently focuses on the finance and operations side of things, Odin intends to adopt Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE (Customer Engagement) and Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Marketing with the hopes of integrating those apps into its architecture and helping improve marketing and customer service operations. Eventually Odin hopes to integrate some of the technical portals within its three companies with more third-party vendors as well.
