Cadeon Attracts New Customers with TIBCO Spotfire
Builds current customer expertise and attracts new ones
Cadeon Associates was founded with the mission of helping companies save time and money by implementing software and processes that make information technology more efficient. Based in Calgary, Cadeon works with businesses all across western Canada.
The company began to notice exponential growth in information. It wasn’t just the amount of data that was growing, but the sources, diversity, and complexity of data was also increasing. The need was no longer as simple as managing growth; companies now needed to react and manage data quality and governance. On top of all of that, they can’t lose sight of the true purpose of gathering data: to inform their business decisions.
“The key here is…how do you work with the data to understand the relationships and get value out of it?” says Phil Unger, CEO of Cadeon Associates. Cadeon’s customers demanded agile, innovative technologies that could help them deal with, and benefit from, the explosion in data they were experiencing.
After listening to the concerns of their customers, Cadeon decided they needed to improve their analytics offerings. They chose to become a TIBCO Spotfire® partner
“Some of our partners are already partners with TIBCO Spotfire, so it made perfect sense when we were talking to a number of clients about business intelligence and analytics,” says Unger.
Cadeon sees Spotfire as a complete package, and a worthwhile investment for their customers. “I think that the Spotfire Cloud pricing is very interesting, and it helps get our customers up and running very, very quickly,” says Unger.
Easy, Fast, and Affordable
Spotfire gives Cadeon’s customers the features they want at a price they like. It also comes in a business-friendly package. Implementation is quick, and the software is easy to use.
“I think Spotfire’s very easy for customers to start using. It seems very intuitive to them. I’ve been amazed at how fast they’ve been able to start seeing the relationships within the data,” says Unger.
It also allows Cadeon to reopen conversations with existing customers. When companies come to them looking for a solution for managing their data, it’s a logical step towards helping them put that data to use.
“Our customers are just starting to understand the power of their data. It’s not just something that lives in a database. When they start to model it and pull it in and use the visualization capabilities of Spotfire, they really start to understand the relationship between their data and their business,” says Unger.
Cadeon is very excited about TIBCO Spotfire 6.0, especially the geolocation capabilities. With many of their customers coming from the oil and gas industry, location data is incredibly relevant. They’re also interested in its mobile capabilities. “The mobile offering is pretty exciting. Everybody’s looking at their cellphones about 400 times a day, so mobile is going to be a huge advantage for our clients.”
Opportunities for Growth
Cadeon is happy with TIBCO as a partner, and looks forward to expanding the relationship. “We started out as a system integrator and have expanded the partnership to include the ability to resell Spotfire. Our long-term vision with TIBCO is to work closer and closer,” says Unger. “TIBCO Spotfire provides extreme value to our organization.”
