Sales Controller

Overview

In this critical highly visible role, you will work collaboratively across sales, legal, revenue, finance, product, security, etc. to price, structure, draft and negotiate software deals that adhere to corporate financial objectives, policies and processes. This position will report directly to the Sr. Director of Sales Operations and will primarily provide support to the Subscription Renewals team in North America. 

 

What You'll Do

  • Be a trusted advisor to Sales, collaborating on pricing, product, and commercial business terms for subscription renewal transactions.
  • Work with cross-functional teams including legal, revenue, and finance, to ensure sales contracts accurately represent commercial agreements and adhere to TIBCO’s guidelines and financial objectives.
  • Provide approvals or propose alternatives to help move deals forward, and serve as an escalation point for non-standard terms.
  • Assist with maintaining high quality data hygiene in Salesforce.com to ensure accurate sales forecasting and reporting. 
  • On-board new Account Executives and provide training on systems and processes.
  • Identify and make recommendations for process improvements; assist with ad hoc projects such as user-acceptance testing of new Salesforce.com and CPQ functionality.
  • Provide tactical Salesforce.com support for day-to-day questions, user support, territory management, and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Assist in other projects and day-to-day sales operations tasks as needed. 
  • Provide a consistent high level of service to all internal customers.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High level proficiency in MS Excel and Word
  • The ability to read, interpret, and draft business contract terms and conditions
  • Salesforce.com and CPQ experience preferred. Strong aptitude for learning new systems. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter, ability to work with a sense of urgency to meet critical deadlines.
  • Willingness to work extended hours during company quarter-end peak periods.
