Atlassian Platform Engineer, IT Platform Automation

Overview

As an Atlassian Platform Engineer you will join the global TIBCO IT team in the development, management, and direct user support of TIBCO Service Desk platform. TIBCO Service Desk platform is the cornerstone of TIBCO's business operations designed to be the hub of platform services ecosystem and a one-stop shop for all TIBCO employees and beyond. As a member of the platform automation team you will bring your knowledge and ideas to the table to help design and implement forward looking solutions, create exceptional end user experience and integrate new services.

What You'll Do

  • Support and maintain existing Jira Service Management application soup to nuts 
  • Design and implement new processes based on customer requirements
  • Build custom solutions using Atlassian Plugin SDK and other technologies
  • Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve application failures and performance issues 
  • Respond to end-user requests and educate them on best practices and existing processes
  • Participate in platform vision development and continuous improvement by leveraging the latest industry knowledge and recommending design improvements 
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
  • Contribute to internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies 

Who You Are

  • Extensive experience deploying, configuring, administering, and supporting Atlassian Jira and Jira Service Management (formally Jira Service Desk)
  • Solid understanding of the Jira back-end architecture
  • Proven record of experience building extensions for Atlassian platform using Atlassian Plugin SDK
  • Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and at least one scripting language (Groovy, Python, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of SQL 
  • Strong focus on customer satisfaction and attention to detail in your work
  • Desire and ability to learn new technologies and provide mentorship for more junior members of the team
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new situations and manage competing priorities
  • Experience working with Insight, Insight Discovery, and ScriptRunner apps is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix systems desirable
  • U.S. Bachelor or higher degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Management or a closely related field of study.
