As data continues to become a more valuable resource for organizations, while simultaneously growing increasingly complex, the demand for individuals with advanced skills in data and analytics is higher than ever. As the field of data and analytics expands, it is more important than ever to encourage gender diversity within the tech landscape. The question is, what does this support and encouragement toward gender equity in analytics look like?
Empowerment and Independence Through Data
Noora Husseini, TIBCO Software’s lead data scientist, has an approach that addresses the high demand for people with analytics skills while simultaneously putting an emphasis on empowering women within the industry, and it starts with the organization She Loves Data.
Husseini points out that “Data literacy is an increasingly important skill in our world today. Understanding how to pull data apart, drill down into the details, and use it to make a compelling case is relevant regardless of the industry you work in. SLD [She Loves Data] is making sure that underrepresented gender minorities will be ahead of the curve.”
Partnering with She Loves Data through our TIBCO4Good initiative, women in precarious situations can learn competitive analytics skills and get certified as dashboard and forecasting specialists, becoming sought after by companies for their data literacy and analytics training.
