TIBCO

Mainframe Adapters

TIBCO Adapters™ provide pre-built integration with target systems and can be used by services created in TIBCO BusinessWorks™. There are a number of mainframe adapters, all of which are built on the TIBCO Adapter™ SDK and messaging backbone:

  • TIBCO Adapter for ActiveDatabase
  • TIBCO Adapter for CICS
  • TIBCO Adapter for Files
  • TIBCO Adapter for MQSeries

TIBCO Adapter for ActiveDatabase

TIBCO Adapter for ActiveDatabase provides bi-directional access to a DB2 system that is running on z/OS or iSeries and the TIBCO messaging infrastructure. It also interacts with other TIBCO products such as TIBCO BusinessWorks and TIBCO Hawk®.

This adapter makes use of either ODBC or JDBC which is specified at connection time. It supports industry standards such as XML, XSD, JMS and SSL.

TIBCO Adapter for CICS

TIBCO Adapter for CICS enables applications to interact with transactions running in CICS regions, transparently passing message requests to and from CICS. Complex requests can be processed via TIBCO BusinessWorks.

Communications with CICS programs is ECI via the COMMAREA, using standard TIBCO repository features and TIBCO messaging.

TIBCO Adapter for Files

TIBCO Adapter for Files provides bi-directional access between files on z/OS and the TIBCO messaging infrastructure. It is typically used to transfer files from z/OS to applications resident on other platforms. It's especially useful in batch environments but can also be used in real-time.

The adapter reads new files in a specified file system and publishes them as TIBCO Rendezvous® messages. It can also be configured to subscribe to TIBCO Rendezvous messages and convert them to lines of text that are written to files. Multiple instances of the adapter communicate via Rendezvous or TIBCO Enterprise Message Service™ messaging.

TIBCO Adapter for MQSeries

TIBCO Adapter for MQSeries connects TIBCO's messaging infrastructure with IBM's WebSphere MQ running on the z/OS and S/390 platforms. It transforms messages from TIBCO sources and can place them on a WMQ queue. It extracts messages from WMQ and converts them to TIBCO wire format for consumption by other applications.
