Prosegur Selects TIBCO To Integrate Global Security Systems

Spanish Security Services Company to Use Award-Winning Business Integration Solutions to Improve Competitiveness, Productivity and Agility

PALO ALTO, Calif., June 20, 2005 - TIBCO Software Inc. (NASDAQ: TIBX), a leading business integration and process management software company that enables real-time business, today announced that Spanish security services company Prosegur has chosen TIBCO®'s suite of award-winning Business Integration solutions as the core platform for its global systems real-time integration plan. Prosegur will implement TIBCO® BusinessWorks, TIBCO Enterprise Message Service™ and TIBCO Rendezvous®, along with additional TIBCO solutions, to improve the agility of its business units while leveraging existing investments in IT infrastructure.

Prosegur has purchased products from TIBCO's portfolio to enable real-time integration of multiple data sources, applications and processes. Using TIBCO, Prosegur seeks to achieve a greater homogeneity and efficiency throughout its IT systems. "After analyzing different proof-of-concepts submitted to us, we selected TIBCO based on, among other factors, the ease of use, flexibility, easy deployment and high availability of their products," said Rafael Muñoz, project manager, Prosegur. "TIBCO's proven commitment to the local market in Spain was also a critical factor in Prosegur's selection process."

According to Muñoz, "In the last few years, Prosegur has gradually implemented diverse technologies to support our business activities. There was a growing need for tighter integration between our systems, with real-time information exchanges instead of batch integration. We're confident the TIBCO platform will address these requirements."

Providing real-time information and enabling complete visibility over systems and processes, TIBCO solutions will help Prosegur to increase its productivity and agility, and to respond faster to market threats and opportunities. Prosegur also expects to accelerate the rollout of new applications using TIBCO software.

For this initial phase, Prosegur plans to:

  • Integrate all applications (TIBCO BusinessWorks);
  • Manage cross relations (TIBCO® SmartMapper Enterprise Server);
  • Connect its systems to any standard database (TIBCO Adapter™ for ActiveDatabase);
  • Build adapters for access to proprietary applications (TIBCO Adapter™ SDK);
  • Store, Manage and Distribute Actives based on XML (TIBCO XML Canon™)
  • Ensure business-to-business integration (TIBCO BusinessConnect™ & TIBCO BusinessConnect™ EDI Protocol);
  • Enable fluent communication between data, applications and processes (TIBCO Enterprise Message Service and TIBCO Rendezvous).

Prosegur's global systems integration plan is now in the first phase of architecture definition and deployment of the core integration platform. The company expects to finalize this first stage within the next twelve months. “We have found that collaborating with TIBCO throughout the process to be very valuable.
