TIBCO, Procter & Gamble, Wal-Mart and Verisign To Demonstrate Supply Chain Track and Trace Solution Using the EPCglobal Network
TIBCO Senior Vice President of Products and Technology to Speak at EPCglobal U.S. Conference
PALO ALTO, Calif., September 29, 2004 - TIBCO Software Inc. (NASDAQ: TIBX), a leading enabler of real–time business and the world's largest independent business integration software company, today announced that TIBCO's Tom Laffey, senior vice president of Products and Technology and board member and former chair of the Software Action Group of EPCglobal's EPC Information Service, will speak at the "EPCglobal U.S. Conference 2004" on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 in Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. Laffey will present the TIBCO developed supply chain track and trace solution that serves as a foundation for Predictive Business™. TIBCO will participate in a live demonstration with Procter & Gamble, Wal-Mart and VeriSign. The supply chain track and trace solution illustrates both the EPCglobal's Network as well as Object Naming Service (ONS) at work and specifically identifies gaps between supplier plans and actual quantities as well as raising alerts based on business rules. TIBCO's solution leverages real-time information to provide end-to-end visibility across the supply chain and improve product availability to consumers, reduce inventory and alleviate out of stock issues.
The conference, produced and hosted by EPCglobal US, the not-for-profit organization that serves subscribers in the United States to help foster the adoption of the EPCglobal Network and related technology, will provide valuable insight into the future of supply chain management as well as deliver the tools and education that trading partners across all industries need.
