TIBCO Software Accelerates KPN's ADSL Roll-out

TIBCO ActiveExchange Provides Scalable Integration Platform to Improve Connections to More Than 120,000 Business Service Suppliers

PALO ALTO, Calif., May 06, 2002 - TIBCO Software Inc. (NASDAQ: TIBX) today announced that the customer care system, that was developed for ordering KPN Telecom´s new service Epacity for xSPs, is fully operational. The customer care system ensures the smooth allocation of xDSL in the Netherlands by basing its core processes, partly, on the TIBCO platform composed of the suites TIBCO ActiveEnterprise™ for Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) and business process management (BPM) and TIBCO ActiveExchange™ for Business–to–Business (B2B) integration.

The Dutch telecom giant has brought its entire set of operational support systems together within the TIBCO integration infrastructure. These include billing, provisioning, trouble ticketing, ordering and customer care systems. The result is a fully integrated and automated environment, which allows KPN to optimize response speeds and follow the best possible CRM practices.

The solution will be used to support KPN´s new broadband service, Epacity for xSPs, which allows Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and Application Service Providers (ASPs) to offer their business customers high–speed, always–on connections for a flat fee. TIBCO ActiveEnterprise and TIBCO ActiveExchange helps to ensure that all aspects of the service run smoothly, from the initial order through to delivery, support, payment and adherence to service level agreements.
