TIBCO Software Demonstrates Leadership Position in Wireless Industry at 3GSM World Congress 2002
TIBCO Exhibits Leading–Edge Solutions Based on TIBCO EAI Technology at Largest Wireless Industry Event in Europe
CANNES, FRANCE, February 19, 2002 - Demonstrating continued total business integration leadership within the wireless industry, TIBCO Software Inc. (NASDAQ: TIBX) will be showing four Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) solutions at the 3GSM World Congress 2002 beginning today in Cannes, France. TIBCO and its partners, Kabiraä Technologies, Inc., Mobileum, Inc. and Soprano Design, will present the demonstrations throughout the show, Tuesday, February 19 to Friday, February 22, at the Palais des Congress in hospitality suite #0121, Hall 2. Exhibiting a customized presentation of TIBCO's latest offerings in the wireless space, demonstrations based on TIBCO integration technology will include: flow-through provisioning for wireless services; WAP- and SMS- based applications that offer immediate Return On Investment (ROI); roaming services that enhance the experience of premier customers; and a service delivery platform for advanced mobile applications.
The 3GSM World Congress is the largest gathering place for the 3GSM industry and provides an exhibition of products and services from over 500 companies. During the show, TIBCO will highlight how they, in collaboration with leading telecom Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), uniquely solve the business problems in today's communications market by providing real-time, distributed solutions that enable telecom and service providers to move quickly into new markets, enhance business processes and increase customer satisfaction. TIBCO provides the enabling infrastructure required to deploy and manage traditional and IP broadband services utilizing various access methods that include DSL, wireless and cable.
TIBCO is the leading provider of flexible, scalable infrastructure technology to communications and media companies. To deliver this technology to the market quickly and cost-effectively, TIBCO partners with leading telecom ISVs, like Kabira, Mobileum and Soprano Design, to ensure that products come to market already TIBCO-enabled.
"New service delivery is critical to competitive advantage online," said Paul Sutton, president and CEO for Kabira Technologies Inc. "TIBCO's products provide an excellent foundation for the wireless delivery of advanced e-business services because of its well established ability to integrate internal and external systems, automate business processes and scale to keep up with explosive growth in online content."
"Killer applications for wireless require instant access to integrated corporate data," said Rich Grohol, Vice President and General Manager, EMEA for Mobileum. "Our partnership with TIBCO combines a world-class business integration infrastructure with a high performance, modular mobile delivery platform, enabling the delivery of integrated data access through wireless channels, to seamlessly extend portal services to enterprises and service providers."
"In the wireless industry, the successful companies will be those that can connect real-time, user-specific information to meet the needs of their customers," said Richard Favero, CEO for Soprano Design. "We have embedded TIBCO Software's infrastructure in our products for the last four years. This allows us to focus on developing high value applications for carriers like Telstra and Optus."
The wireless communications industry is evolving from voice-focused to data-focused networks. For incumbent companies, the shift to data-oriented networks presents huge infrastructure challenges, but opens up new revenue streams in the content and applications carried over those networks. TIBCO solutions build the foundation for integration of these new revenue-generating applications, providing the backend connectivity and seamless integration of disparate systems, enabling applications to communicate with one another and disseminate information, on a real-time basis, throughout the enterprise. By leveraging integrated, real-time, active information delivery systems, corporations enable swift, creative responses across the enterprise.
"It is becoming increasingly cost effective to combine best-of-breed solutions from a combination of vendors in order to build a complete wireless solution," said Erik Hansen, president EMEA for TIBCO Software. "Kabira, Mobileum and Soprano Design are key players in the highly competitive wireless environment and their commitment to TIBCO supports our position as the leading provider of business infrastructure software to the communications and media industry."
