Scandinavian Airlines Systems Selects TIBCO Software For Strategic Business Integration

LAS VEGAS, NV., June 11, 2001 - TIBCO Software Inc. (Nasdaq: TIBX) announced today, at its Strategic Directions 2001 customer conference, that Scandinavian Airlines Systems (SAS) has signed a global multi-million dollar license agreement to use TIBCO's technology across its enterprise. SAS plans to use TIBCO's total business integration solution to deliver improved customer service and develop new services faster.

"The SAS business concept is to provide a wide choice of market-leading airline-based travel products, with special emphasis on business travel," said Claes Broström, senior vice president and CIO of SAS. "TIBCO's technology allows us to share real-time information with every area of our company and make the best use of this information within our business processes."

"The ability to access real-time information about customers and partners is crucial in the fast-moving, highly-competitive transportation industry," said Vivek Ranadivé, TIBCO chairman and CEO. "SAS is the latest of several companies, including Delta Air Lines, FedEx Corporation, Northwest Airlines and TNT North America who have selected TIBCO."

TIBCO offers a flexible and scalable integration infrastructure solution that enables SAS to focus its business processes on customer demand, and access the real-time information that is essential to success.

Using TIBCO's Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), Business-to-Business (B2B) and portal solutions, SAS will be able to create a consolidated view of customer information without needing to replicate the various information into one system. New customer services can be offered based on business intelligence applied across all systems.

"TIBCO's technology will be the integration backbone of our network and corporate enterprise architecture which makes it easier for us to add new services with seamless integration to our core systems. TIBCO will also help to increase efficiency by providing tools for process management as a key element of the integration solution" said Broström.
